Babar is a beloved children's show featuring an elephant named Babar who becomes king of his tribe. In season 2, episode 14 titled "The Gift," the episode begins with Babar and his family receiving an invitation to visit their old friend Cornelius in Celesteville. Cornelius tells Babar that he has a special gift for him and asks him to meet him in the forest the next day.
Babar is excited to receive a gift from his old friend, but he has trouble sleeping that night because he's so eager to see what it is. The next day, Babar sets out into the forest to meet Cornelius. Along the way, he encounters his children's friends, Pom and Flora, who are looking for a special flower to give to their teacher.
Babar offers to help them find the flower and they all continue on their journey together. As they search, Babar tells Pom and Flora about the gift he's going to receive from Cornelius. Pom and Flora are excited for Babar and can't wait to see what Cornelius has in store for him.
After a while, they find the special flower, but as they try to pick it, they discover that it's guarded by a group of bees. The bees won't let them near the flower, so Babar comes up with a plan. He tells the children to make a lot of noise, while he sneaks up to the flower and picks it. The plan works, and they all celebrate their success.
As they continue on their journey, they come across an old, broken down caravan. Inside, they find an old man named Ali, who is trying to fix his wagon. Babar offers to help him and invites him along on their journey. Ali is grateful for the help, and he tells the children a story about a magical carpet he once had.
Eventually, the group arrives at Cornelius' home in Celesteville. They are greeted warmly and Cornelius presents Babar with his gift. Much to Babar's surprise, the gift is none other than the magical carpet that Ali had told the children about on their journey.
Babar is overjoyed with the gift and thanks Cornelius profusely. The children are also excited to see the magic carpet in action and ask if they can have a ride. Cornelius agrees, and they all go on a magical ride across the land.
As they fly over the kingdom, they see the beauty of the land and all the different creatures that live there. They even come across some troublemakers who are up to no good. Babar and his friends use the magic of the carpet to stop the troublemakers and make the kingdom a safer place.
The episode ends with Babar and his family returning home, still in awe of the gift they received. They are grateful for their friends and their adventures, and they all go to bed happy and content.
