Copycat/Heropotamus: In episode 6 of Babar and the Adventures of Badou season 1, Badou's playful manner gets him into a mischievous situation. Badou's monkey friend, Chiku, gets trapped in a hole, and Badou tries to rescue her by using his Trunk Twister move. However, while trying to execute the move, Badou accidentally picks up a rock with his trunk, sending it flying into the air and hitting Cornelius on the head. Cornelius is certain that it was Badou who threw the rock at him, and Badou feels terrible for causing trouble. To make matters worse, he is scolded by his parents and given an afternoon alone in his room to think about his actions.
Feeling lonely and sorry for himself, Badou decides to take a walk outside, where he comes across a furry creature who looks just like him. The creature introduces himself as Heropotamus and invites Badou to play with him. Badou is delighted to have found a new friend, but soon discovers that Heropotamus enjoys mimicking everything Badou does, even to the point of taking credit for all of Badou's good deeds. Badou's annoyance turns to worry when he realizes that Heropotamus is planning to take all the credit for Badou's upcoming act of bravery, which involves rescuing a group of animals from Quickthorn Tower.
Meanwhile, as Badou worries about Heropotamus's copycat behavior, his friends Baddy and Benny become determined to find the object that hit Cornelius on the head. They are convinced that it was not Badou, and embark on a detective mission to uncover the truth. Despite some setbacks, the pair eventually discover that the rock was thrown by an unlikely culprit - Cornelius himself! It seems that Cornelius had been trying to retrieve a tennis ball from a tree and accidentally dropped the rock on himself.
With the mystery solved, Badou turns his attention back to Heropotamus, who has gone ahead without him to confront the crocodiles at Quickthorn Tower. Badou and his friends race to catch up, but find that Heropotamus is already in danger, having become trapped in a thorn bush. With Heropotamus in trouble, Badou has no choice but to put aside his frustration with his copycat ways and work together with his new friend to free him. The pair are successful in their mission, and Heropotamus, impressed by Badou's bravery, confesses that he only copied Badou because he wanted to be like him.
