The rugged loggers of the Pacific Northwest are back for another season of Ax Men, and season 8 kicks off with episode 1, named Logged and Loaded. This season, we follow four logging crews as they battle brutal weather, equipment failures, and the dangers of the job to fell some of the largest trees in North America.
In Logged and Loaded, we are introduced to the new crew: J.M. Browning Logging. Led by company founder and logging industry veteran, Jay Browning, this crew is looking to make their mark on the industry. With a brand new team of young loggers and state-of-the-art equipment at their disposal, J.M. Browning Logging is ready to take on the toughest jobs in the Pacific Northwest.
Meanwhile, on the other side of Washington state, Rygaard Logging is back in action after a devastating season last year. Led by Craig Rygaard, the crew is trying to rebuild after losing their company patriarch and founder in a tragic accident. The team is determined to honor his legacy and push forward, even in the face of extreme weather conditions and equipment failures.
On the Oregon coast, reigning champions, the Gustafson Logging Co., are looking to defend their title as the top loggers in the region. With patriarch, Craig Gustafson, at the helm, the crew is more determined than ever to prove they are the best. This season, they are also facing a new challenge in the form of a rival logging company, S&S Aqua Logging, who are looking to disrupt the industry with their unique underwater logging techniques.
Finally, in Alaska, high-flying helicopter logging company, Pihl Logging, is back in business. Led by Mike Pihl, the crew is looking to take on some of the most treacherous terrain in the world to reach the biggest and most valuable trees. But, as always, the crew must navigate dangerous weather conditions and treacherous terrain to get the job done.
As the episode unfolds, we see each crew facing their own unique challenges. J.M. Browning Logging is trying to prove themselves to the industry and land their first big job. Rygaard Logging is dealing with extreme weather conditions and equipment issues that threaten to derail their season. Gustafson Logging is battling it out with their new underwater logging rivals, S&S Aqua Logging. And Pihl Logging is pushing themselves to the limit in some of the harshest conditions on the planet.
Despite the constant challenges, each crew shows incredible determination and teamwork as they work together to get the job done. From felling enormous trees to transporting them safely to the mill, the loggers are experts at their craft and show a deep respect for the forest and their fellow crew members.
Logged and Loaded sets the stage for an exciting and action-packed season of Ax Men, as we follow the highs and lows of these four logging crews. With each episode, viewers will get an up-close look at the incredible work that goes into logging, and the incredible risks that these men take to provide the world with the lumber that we all rely on.
