The Avengers return in season 2 of Earth's Mightiest Heroes with a brand new episode titled "The Private War of Dr. Doom". The episode kicks off with a dream sequence where Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man, finds himself stranded in an alien planet. The twist is that the planet is abuzz with celebration and everyone seems to be aware of Stark's arrival. As the celebration continues, Stark discovers that he is in fact on a virtual reality training simulator designed by his AI assistant, JARVIS.
The episode quickly shifts from Stark's dream to reality, where the Avengers are engaged in a battle with Doctor Doom. As the battle rages on, Captain America is informed that Doom has kidnapped the Latverian ambassador and is holding him captive. The Avengers are immediately dispatched to investigate the matter. As they infiltrate Doom's stronghold, they discover that the ambassador is being held as a bargaining chip to force the Avengers into returning Doctor Doom's long-lost mother.
The Avengers are able to rescue the ambassador, but Doom manages to escape. The team decides to chase Doom down and bring him to justice. In their pursuit of Doom, the Avengers come across an old enemy - The Wrecking Crew. The Crew are hired by Doom and are tasked with stopping the Avengers from reaching him. The Avengers outdo themselves in the battle and eventually capture the Wrecking Crew.
As the Avengers continue their search for Doctor Doom, they come across the Latverian army, who attempt to stop them with their tanks and artillery. The Avengers are able to fend off the attacks and finally arrive at Doom's castle. A fierce battle between the Avengers and Doom's army ensues, and in the end, the Avengers are able to defeat Doom and his forces.
However, the victory is short-lived when Doom pulls out a device that has a timer attached to it. Doom informs the Avengers that the device is a self-destruct mechanism, and that they can either leave and let the device detonate or stay and die with it. In a bid to save themselves, the Avengers are forced to retreat, but not before Captain America is injured in the battle.
"The Private War of Dr. Doom" is a thrilling episode that is sure to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. The battle scenes are high-octane and packed with action, while the storyline is engaging and well thought out.
