Betty Vs. the Giant Killer Ants / Best (Mis)Laid Plans is the eighteenth episode of the first season of the animated television series, Atomic Betty. In this episode, Betty, Sparky, and X-5 are sent on a mission to a planet overrun by giant killer ants. After discovering the queen ant is using a mind controlling device, Betty must figure out a way to destroy the device and stop the ants from taking over the galaxy. Meanwhile, Admiral DeGill and Chaz work on developing their own invention, but their plans may not go as smoothly as they anticipated.
The episode starts off with Betty, Sparky, and X-5 receiving a mission from Commander Cone to go to planet Antos and stop the giant killer ants. Upon arriving on the planet, they discover that the ants have taken over the entire city and are wreaking havoc. They also find out that the queen ant is using a mind controlling device to make the ants do her bidding.
Betty and her team infiltrate the ant's lair, where they discover the queen ant and her device. However, as they try to destroy it, they are ambushed by the ants and must fight their way out. After escaping, Betty realizes that she needs a different approach to take down the mind controlling device.
Meanwhile, Admiral DeGill is working on a new invention with Chaz. They come up with a machine that can clone things, but they accidentally clone a sandwich instead of Admiral DeGill's prized trophy. While they are working on fixing the machine, they discover that the clones are not functioning properly and are causing chaos around the ship.
Betty returns to the ant's lair with a new plan. She is able to use the mind controlling device against the queen ant by reversing the polarity. This causes the queen ant to lose control of her army, and they turn on her. Betty and her team are then able to destroy the mind controlling device and save the day.
Back on the ship, Admiral DeGill and Chaz realize that the clones are destroying the ship and they need to stop them. They come up with a plan to use the cloning machine to create an army of Admiral DeGill's prized trophies to fight the clones. The plan works and they are able to stop the clones and save the ship.
In the end, Betty and her team return to Earth as heroes, and Admiral DeGill and Chaz are happy to have saved the ship. This episode highlights the importance of teamwork and thinking outside the box when faced with difficult challenges. It also shows that even the most well-intentioned plans can go awry if not properly thought out.
