Ep 13. Uran The Tomboy
- December 25, 1980
In the thirteenth episode of season one of Astro Boy 1980, titled "Uran the Tomboy," viewers get to see Astro's younger sister, Uran, take the center stage. Uran is a young and spunky girl with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. She is a tomboy who loves to play rough and enjoy outdoor activities.
The episode begins with Uran coming back home after spending the whole day with her friends. She is visibly exhausted and has a lot of marks and bruises on her. She tells her family that she had a great time and that they should have seen the giant swing she used to jump into the river. Astro, being the responsible elder brother, is concerned about Uran's well-being and reminds her of the dangers of playing too roughly.
The next day, Uran goes out to play and meets her friend, a young boy, and his robotic dog. They are excited about a new game they have created, which involves jumping from an elevated platform onto the roof of a neighboring building. However, Uran is hesitant at first, remembering her brother's warning. But soon, her desire to play overcomes her apprehension, and she decides to join in.
NASA, the villain of the show, is watching Uran and her friends from his control center. He is unhappy with their game and decides to intervene. He sends his robotic pawns to ambush Uran and her friends. They use weapons to destroy the platform, and Uran and her friends fall to the ground. Uran is injured, and her robotic dog is severely damaged.
Astro hears about the incident and rushes to Uran's side. He is furious and decides to take revenge on NASA and his team of robots. However, Uran insists that she and her friends will handle the situation themselves. She wants to prove that she is not weak and can take care of herself and her friends.
The story takes an interesting turn when NASA decides to use Uran's damaged robotic dog to create a robot that can infiltrate the Astro's family home and steal information about their robotic technology. The robot, disguised as the dog, is able to get inside the house using the same entrance as the family pets. However, Uran quickly realizes that something is off about the dog, and she becomes suspicious. She decides to investigate and discovers the robot's true identity.
Uran quickly alerts her family, and Astro and his father are able to destroy the robot before it can cause any significant damage. The episode ends with Uran realizing that she does not have to prove anything to anyone. She doesn't need to play rough or engage in risky activities to show her strength. She is strong because of who she is, and that's enough.
"Uran the Tomboy" is an exciting episode that showcases the character of Uran. It highlights her personality, her strengths, and her flaws. It also demonstrates the importance of family, friendship, and trust. This episode is a must-watch for fans of Astro Boy and those who love action-packed anime.
