Astro Boy season 1 episode 1, titled "Birth of Astro Boy," is the premiere episode of the classic anime series. The show follows the adventures of a young robot named Astro Boy, who was created by a scientist named Doctor Elefun. In this episode, viewers are introduced to Astro for the first time and are given a glimpse into his origin story.

The episode begins with Doctor Elefun reminiscing about his deceased son, Tobio, who was killed in a car accident. Devastated by his loss, Doctor Elefun decides to create a robot that could replace his son and bring him back to life. After years of hard work, he finally succeeds in creating the perfect robot - Astro Boy.

Astro Boy is a unique robot in that he has emotions and is capable of feeling pain. Doctor Elefun imbues him with a sense of morality and a strong desire to do good in the world. However, Astro's abilities are put to the test when he is sent on his first mission: to stop a robot named Skunk Kusai who is wreaking havoc in the city.

Skunk Kusai is a dangerous robot who is able to emit a foul-smelling gas that paralyzes anyone who comes into contact with it. He is initially able to evade Astro Boy's attacks, but with some quick thinking, Astro is able to disable his gas emitter and defeat him.

Throughout the episode, we see Astro struggling to come to terms with his identity as a robot. He is constantly reminded by humans that he is not one of them and is often treated as a second-class citizen. This leads to an emotional moment at the end of the episode when Astro Boy questions his own existence and asks Doctor Elefun why he was created.

Overall, "Birth of Astro Boy" is a great start to the series. It establishes the show's main themes and introduces viewers to the titular character in a fun and engaging way. The animation is solid and the voice acting is top-notch, especially in the case of Astro Boy's voice actor, who expertly conveys the character's emotions. This episode is definitely worth watching for fans of classic anime and sci-fi stories.
