Ash vs Evil Dead is a comedy horror series and the second season opens up with a bang in the first episode titled 'Home'. The episode starts off where the last season ended; Ash (Bruce Campbell) is enjoying his newfound fame at Elk Grove, while his two sidekicks Pablo (Ray Santiago) and Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo) still struggle to adjust to their new reality of living with demons and saving the world.

The opening scenes of the show bring a lot of energy and humor, with Ash trying to impress a girl at a local bar with his stories of being a hero. However, things take a dark turn when Pablo starts seeing strange visions and hears demonic whispers that convince him to leave Elk Grove immediately and find his real purpose. Ash, Kelly, and Pablo set off on a road trip to search for answers and find the Necronomicon, the book of the dead, which will provide them with the knowledge and power to stop the evil once and for all.

As the trio reaches their destination, Ash's childhood home, he is quick to realize that demons have infested the place and that they need to find the Necronomicon before the creatures do. The episode then transitions into an intense, action-packed sequence as the team battles for their lives against the demonic presence that has taken over the house.

The episode itself is filled with gruesome violence, hilarious one-liners, and pop culture references that are typical of the franchise. The humor and horror elements are perfectly balanced, and the storyline does an excellent job of setting up the overall arc for the season. The chemistry between the three main characters, Ash, Kelly and Pablo is one of the strongest points of the show, and it is on full display in this episode.

Apart from the central storyline, the episode also introduces some new characters, most notably, Ash's father, Brock Williams (Lee Majors). Brock and Ash have a strained relationship, which is made apparent in their interactions, and serves as an excellent source of tension and drama throughout the episode.

Overall, 'Home' is a fantastic start to the second season of Ash vs Evil Dead. The episode manages to capture the essence of the franchise, bringing back the humor and horror elements that made it so successful.
