As Told By Ginger is an American animated television series that aired on Nickelodeon from 2000 to 2006. The series follows the life of a junior high school student named Ginger Foutley, who is trying to navigate through the ups and downs of adolescence.

Season 1, episode 5 is titled "Of Lice & Friends." The episode centers around the outbreak of lice at Lucky Junior High School. Ginger discovers that she has lice after her mother checks her head, and she is mortified. She is afraid of what her classmates will think of her if they find out that she has lice. To make matters worse, her best friend Dodie has also contracted lice, and the two of them must deal with the situation together.

The episode begins with Ginger's mother discovering that Ginger has lice. She immediately isolates Ginger from the rest of the family and begins treating her hair with special shampoo. Ginger is embarrassed and upset about the situation, knowing that she will have to go to school with lice. Her mother assures her that lice can happen to anyone and that it's not a big deal, but Ginger is still worried about what her classmates will think of her.

When Ginger arrives at school, she tries to hide her lice from her friends, but eventually, Dodie figures out what's going on when she sees a lice comb in Ginger's bag. Dodie is horrified and rushes to the bathroom to check her own hair. She, too, has lice.

The two friends decide to deal with the situation together and try to help each other get rid of the lice. They use the special shampoo and comb each other's hair, but it seems like the lice won't go away. They realize that they need professional help and ask their friend Macie, who is good at science, for advice. Macie suggests that they try drowning the lice with mayonnaise, which they decide to try.

Meanwhile, the rest of the students at Lucky Junior High have caught wind of the lice epidemic, and they start avoiding Ginger and Dodie. Ginger feels isolated and alone, and she comes up with a plan to get everyone to like her again. She decides to host a sleepover at her house, and invites all of the girls from school. She hopes that by having a party, she can show everyone that having lice doesn't make her any less cool.

The sleepover is a disaster, with all of the girls fighting and arguing with each other. Ginger is still embarrassed about her lice and tries to keep it hidden, but eventually, it is revealed to everyone. However, to her surprise, the girls are supportive and offer to help Ginger and Dodie get rid of the lice. They all start combing each other's hair, and soon, everyone in the room is covered in mayonnaise.

In the end, the lice is finally defeated thanks to the girls' efforts, and Ginger realizes that having true friends who accept you no matter what is more important than trying to impress everyone else. She learns a valuable lesson about the true meaning of friendship and acceptance.

Overall, "Of Lice & Friends" is an entertaining and relatable episode that deals with a common problem for many kids. It addresses issues of self-esteem and fitting in, while also promoting the value of true friendship. The episode is well-written and features excellent voice acting, making it an enjoyable watch for both kids and adults alike.
