Arthur is an animated television series that explores the many adventures of Arthur Read and his friends. Season 9 episode 8 revolves around two stories: The 'A' Team and Emily Swallows a Horse.
In The 'A' Team, Arthur and his friends form a soccer team called the Aardvarkian Spiders. However, they quickly realize that their team is not very good and they struggle to win games. Their coach, Mr. Ratburn, encourages them to work together and focus on their strengths. Arthur and his friends take his advice and decide to focus on playing defense.
Meanwhile, Prunella is also on a soccer team, but she is not happy with her team's lack of discipline. She decides to create her own team, called the Pink Skulls, and challenges Arthur's team to a game. The Aardvarkian Spiders are initially skeptical about their chances, but eventually, they decide to play their best.
The game ends up being close, but the Aardvarkian Spiders ultimately win thanks to their defensive strategy. They realize that working together and focusing on their strengths was the key to their success.
In the second story, Emily Swallows a Horse, Emily is excited to try horseback riding for the first time. However, when she sees how big the horses are, she becomes nervous and decides not to ride. The rest of her friends try to help her overcome her fear, but nothing seems to work.
One day, Emily sees a horse running free and decides to follow it. She eventually catches up to it and tries to feed it, but accidentally swallows the apple whole. Emily starts to panic, worried that the horse will think she is trying to eat it. Her friends help her calm down and explain that horses cannot understand human speech.
Emily eventually tries horseback riding again and discovers that she loves it. She learns that it is okay to be nervous but that trying new things can be exciting and rewarding.
Overall, The 'A' Team/Emily Swallows a Horse is a heartwarming and fun episode of Arthur that teaches valuable lessons about teamwork, perseverance, and facing your fears.
