Upon their arrival, Binky shows them his prized possession, a painting by a famous artist. Arthur and Buster are impressed but are taken aback when Binky claims to have created the painting himself.
Binky’s sudden interest in art is brushed off by his friends but they are soon proven wrong when they see that his artwork is being exhibited in the school library. They are surprised by the fact that Binky has such a talent for art. However, the Museum of Fine Arts is coming to town and when Binky sees an exhibit that he has a special liking to, he finds out that it’s actually a forgery. Arthur and Buster are then invited over by Binky once again, this time to prove that the artwork in question is indeed a fake.
In the second half of the episode, titled “Arthur's Lucky Pencil,” we see Arthur become obsessed with what he considers his lucky pencil. He is convinced that he needs this pencil to do well on a math test. The pencil was given to him by his grandfather, who claims that it once belonged to a famous writer. Arthur’s friends try to convince him that his success isn’t dependent on the pencil but Arthur stubbornly holds onto it and won’t even let his little sister touch it.
Arthur’s obsession with the pencil begins to frustrate his teacher, who wonders why Arthur is so obsessed with it. When Arthur’s lucky pencil goes missing on the day of the math test, he panics and is unable to answer any questions. He then realizes that success isn’t dependent on a pencil but rather his own abilities. In the end, he does well on the test without the pencil and learns an important lesson about superstitions.
