Arthur season 17 episode 7 includes two separate storylines: "Pets and Pests" and "Go Fly a Kite."
In "Pets and Pests," Arthur and his friends have been assigned to take care of the classroom pet gerbil, Speedy. However, when Francine brings in her ant farm for show and tell, the ants quickly escape and invade Speedy's cage. The children soon realize that the ants are not only taking over Speedy's habitat, but also wreaking havoc around the school. They decide to work together to solve the ant problem and save Speedy, while learning about the importance of respecting both pets and pests.
In "Go Fly a Kite," Buster and Ladonna are excited to participate in the school's annual kite-flying contest, but struggle to create a kite that will actually fly. They enlist the help of their friends to come up with a creative solution, but still encounter obstacles along the way. Despite some setbacks, the group works together and ultimately learns the value of perseverance and teamwork.
