The Tale of the Closet Keepers follows two siblings, Betty Ann and her brother Shane, who are staying with their aunt for the summer while their parents are away. The siblings are tasked with cleaning out the attic and find an old trunk filled with mysterious objects. Among them is a necklace that Betty Ann becomes fascinated with, it seemingly belonging to an old family member.
As the summer progresses, strange things begin to happen. Betty Ann starts having nightmares and seeing visions of two ghostly figures, who appear to be siblings themselves. At the same time, their cousin Amanda's things begin disappearing. The siblings realize that the ghosts are stealing things and keeping them in a secret closet in the attic.
Betty Ann and Shane decide to investigate and are confronted by the ghost siblings, who warn them to leave their things alone. But Betty Ann is determined to help them find peace, and with the help of Amanda, they discover the truth behind the ghost siblings' tragic story and what they must do to help them move on.
As the group uncovers more about the past, they realize that not only are the ghost siblings stuck in their own form of purgatory, but the attic itself is keeping them there. The closet has become a portal that is holding them back from moving on to the afterlife. Betty Ann and her friends must find a way to close the portal and help the ghost siblings find peace.
Throughout the episode, there are a number of spooky moments, including eerie dreams and ghostly appearances. The stakes feel high as the group begins to understand the gravity of the situation and the urgency behind helping the ghosts move on. Despite the scares, there is also a message of compassion and empathy, particularly when Betty Ann realizes that the ghosts are just children who are afraid to move on.
