He bravely ventures into the darkness and finds the cursed jack-in-the-box, which he destroys with a magic sword he had found earlier in the room.

With the jack-in-the-box destroyed, the Night Frights vanish and the room returns to normal. The siblings escape just as the mansion bursts into flames, the curse finally lifted. In the end, Jamie thanks his friends for the story and bravely confronts his own fear of the dark, knowing that he too can defeat his own Night Frights.
