Archie's Weird Mysteries season 1 episode 4, entitled "Attack of the 50-Foot Veronica," follows the popular teenage group as they investigate strange occurrences that lead to Veronica growing to an enormous size. As the episode opens, several small animals and insects in Riverdale begin to mutate, causing alarm and concern among the townsfolk. The cause of these mutations, however, remains a mystery.
As Archie, Jughead, and Betty investigate, they discover that the mutants all appear to be linked to Veronica's father, who is conducting experiments with radiation in his laboratory. The trio visits Veronica's father to question him about the strange occurrences, but he assures them that his experiments are entirely safe and unrelated to the mutations.
Despite his reassurances, Archie and his friends soon discover that Veronica has somehow been affected by her father's experiments and is growing to a massive size. As she continues to grow, she begins to wreak havoc all over town, causing destruction and terrorizing the townsfolk.
Archie and his friends are determined to uncover what is causing Veronica's strange affliction and put an end to it before she causes any more damage. They turn to Veronica's father once again, suspecting that he may be hiding something from them.
As they investigate further, they discover that Veronica's father is, in fact, hiding a dark secret. He has been experimenting with a dangerous form of radiation that he believed would help him cure various diseases. However, the radiation he's been using has had unintended consequences, causing the mutations and ultimately leading to Veronica's size increase.
Determined to stop the chaos and save Veronica, Archie and his friends concoct a plan to disable the radiation machine and reverse the effects before it's too late. They pool their resources and use their knowledge to break into the lab and disable the machine.
Finally, they succeed, and Veronica's size reduces to its normal size. However, the experiment has had lasting effects on the town, and it will take time for everyone to recover fully. Nonetheless, Archie and his friends address the situation and stop the chaos, ensuring the town's safety.
As the episode closes, the group realizes they have a responsibility to keep Riverdale safe from any other oddities that may come up in the future, and they vow to continue investigating and protecting their community from any dangers that may come their way. The show ends with a feeling of resolution, and the group continuing their daily lives, prepared for any mysteries that lie ahead.
