The group eventually discovers the brains behind the operation, who happens to be Veronica's father, who was trying to revive his family's name to its former glory. However, he is quickly exposed, and with the help of the plant's creator, the group finds a way to reverse the mutation and stop the killer potatoes.

Throughout the episode, Archie and his friends face various obstacles together as a team and show exemplary teamwork, with Betty's scientific research helping with diagnosis, Veronica using her knowledge of the town's power structure to track down clues, and Jughead's tech savvy making it possible to track down the responsible parties behind the mutation.
