As Archer enters its eleventh season, the series has continued to remain fresh and entertaining. In the fifth episode of season 11, titled "Best Friends," the focus shifts towards highlighting the relationship between the main characters, Sterling Archer and Lana Kane.
The episode begins with Archer, who is recovering from a gunshot wound and dealing with his issues of depression and anxiety, seeking help from Lana to find a way to cope with his mental health issues. Lana, who considers herself to be Archer's best friend, is more than happy to lend a helping hand and agrees to accompany him to his therapy session. While at the therapist, the doctor suggests that Archer should try reaching out to his friends and family as a way to start the healing process.
Following their therapy session, Archer and Lana head to a bar to catch up on old times and reminisce about the good times they shared together. During their conversation, Lana reveals that she has been going through a tough time in her personal life and has been struggling to find someone to confide in. Recognizing the importance of supporting one another, Archer offers to be there for her and listen to her troubles.
As their night progresses, Archer and Lana are eventually joined by the rest of the gang who are all looking to blow off some steam. While at the bar, the group runs into an old acquaintance of Archer's named Robby Mitchell, who is a successful businessman and seems to have everything going for him. However, as the night goes on, it becomes clear that Robby may not be as successful as he appears to be, and the group begins to question his motives.
Throughout the episode, the audience is treated to several flashbacks that highlight the history between Archer and Lana. These flashbacks provide insight into their relationship and how they have grown together over the years. The flashbacks also serve as a way to showcase how much both characters have changed since the start of the series.
One of the most notable moments in the episode comes towards the end when Archer and Lana have a heart-to-heart conversation about their friendship and how much they mean to each other. This conversation is particularly touching as it highlights the bond that has developed between the two characters and shows that they truly are best friends.
Overall, "Best Friends" is a great episode that puts the spotlight on the relationship between Archer and Lana. The episode is emotionally charged, and the audience will find themselves rooting for these two characters to continue being there for each other. With the series still going strong after eleven seasons, it will be interesting to see where the story goes from here.
