Der Inflatable Fuhrer is the ninth episode of the seventh season of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, a popular adult animated series on Adult Swim. The episode follows the antics of the three main characters, Frylock, Meatwad, and Master Shake, as they accidentally inflate a giant inflatable Hitler after a delivery mix-up.
The episode begins with the Aqua Teens receiving a package addressed to them, which they assume is a gift from a fan. Upon opening it, they discover an inflated full-size replica of Hitler, complete with Nazi garb and a swastika armband. The Aqua Teens are initially horrified and try to get rid of the inflatable figure, but are unable to do so due to its gigantic size.
As the episode progresses, the Aqua Teens must deal with the various consequences of having an inflatable Hitler in their home. They are visited by a group of Jewish protesters who mistake them for neo-Nazis and are subsequently arrested for hate crimes. They are also visited by a group of neo-Nazis who are excited to see their inflated leader, but are ultimately disappointed by its lack of power.
Things only get more complicated when Shake accidentally punctures the inflatable Hitler while trying to inflate a beach ball, leaving the Aqua Teens to scramble to find a replacement before any more damage can be done. They finally find a lead on a replacement Hitler, but it turns out to be a defective model that begins to slowly deflate as soon as they inflate it.
Throughout the episode, the humor is raunchy and absurdist, with plenty of one-liners, sight gags, and scatological humor. The animation style is intentionally rough, with a hand-drawn look that adds to the show's overall DIY vibe.
One of the standout features of Der Inflatable Fuhrer is the way it handles sensitive subjects like racism and anti-Semitism. While the episode features plenty of offensive jokes and stereotypes, it also has a surprisingly nuanced take on these topics. The Jewish protesters are portrayed sympathetically, for example, and the Aqua Teens' ignorance and cluelessness is played for laughs rather than as a way to condone their behavior.
Overall, Der Inflatable Fuhrer is a classic episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force that showcases its particular brand of absurdist humor and boundary-pushing satire. While it may not be for everyone, fans of the show will find plenty to enjoy in this hilarious and over-the-top installment.
