After 8 episodes of bizarre and inexplicable plotlines, things get even weirder in Aqua Teen Hunger Force's season 2 episode 9, titled "Meatzone." The episode follows the three main characters - Master Shake, Frylock, and Meatwad - as they attempt to host a cookout in their backyard.
The episode starts off relatively normal, with Master Shake deciding that the trio should have a cookout to show off their grilling skills. Frylock is immediately skeptical and warns Shake not to use his "flame-throwing grill," but Shake ignores him and starts cooking anyway.
As they wait for the food to cook, Meatwad becomes increasingly obsessed with meat and begins to act strangely. He insists that they only serve meat at the cookout, even if it means cooking up their pet cat. Frylock tries to reason with him, but Meatwad won't listen.
Meanwhile, strange things start happening in the backyard. The ground begins to shake and pulsate, and Meatwad sees visions of a giant meat monster. Frylock attributes this to Meatwad's obsession with meat, but soon realizes that something much more sinister is going on.
Eventually, the meat monster emerges from the ground and attacks the house. Frylock and Shake try to fight it off with their various kitchen utensils, but nothing seems to work. Meatwad, however, discovers that he has the power to control the meat monster and uses it to defeat their other enemies.
The episode ends with Meatwad enjoying his newfound power and the rest of the characters breathing a sigh of relief that the meat monster has been defeated. Despite its bizarre plotline, "Meatzone" manages to be one of the funniest and most entertaining episodes of the series, thanks to its clever writing and absurdist humor.
