In this episode of Antiques Roadshow UK, we continue our visit to Arundel Castle in Norfolk. Fiona Bruce and the team of experts are back to appraise a range of fascinating antiques brought in by visitors.
The Roadshow experts are in for a treat as they examine items ranging from a 17th-century silver jug, a 19th-century signed painting, to an 18th-century Chinese planter.
Among the items appraised is a rare and beautiful work of art, a jade green vase, believed to have been made during the reign of Emperor Qianlong in the 18th century. The vase was brought in by a visitor and the expert values it at a whopping £30,000-£40,000.
Another interesting item that attracts attention is a 19th-century ivory fan. The fan was intricately carved with designs of birds and flowers, and its value is estimated to be between £3,000 and £5,000.
In this episode, we also get a glimpse of the refurbishments taking place at Arundel Castle. We see the beautiful state rooms being restored and learn about the importance of preserving historic buildings. We also visit the estate's library, home to rare books and manuscripts dating back to the 11th century.
