In Episode 15 of Antiques Road Trip Season 8, antique experts Charles Hanson and Margie Cooper embark on the final leg of their road trip through East Anglia. The duo kick off their journey at an auction in Norwich, where they are on the hunt for items to sell at the final auction in Kent.
Their first stop is an impressive early 20th-century Globe Wernicke bookcase, which Charles is immediately drawn to. He admires its innovative modular design and the fact that it can be taken apart and moved easily. Margie, on the other hand, sets her sights on a lovely cut glass vase, which she believes will do well at auction.
Next, the duo visits an antiques dealer in Norfolk, who has an extensive collection of antique silverware. Charles is in his element as he examines a beautiful silver wine ewer, while Margie is impressed by a silver tea caddy. However, the dealer has high prices, and the duo decide to move on.
Their third stop is a rare chance to explore a Georgian townhouse in Great Yarmouth, which has been preserved as a museum. As they wander through the various rooms, they come across an exquisite Regency period tea set and a finely crafted ormolu clock. Margie is particularly taken with a delicate fan, which belonged to the Mayor's wife.
Charles and Margie then visit a private collector who has an impressive collection of antique toys and dolls. Charles is drawn to a rare lead racing car, while Margie can't resist a beautiful bisque porcelain doll, complete with a collection of tiny clothes and accessories.
Their final stop on the road trip is an antique dealer in Kent, where they hope to sell their items at auction. The competition is fierce, with several other dealers present. Charles takes a risk by putting his Globe Wernicke bookcase up for auction with a high reserve price, while Margie is more cautious, choosing to sell her items for more realistic prices.
The auction is tense and exciting, with the crowd eagerly bidding on the various items up for sale. Charles and Margie watch nervously as each of their lots is auctioned off, hoping to make a good profit. In the end, they both do well, with some items selling for considerably more than expected.
As the episode comes to a close, the duo reflect on their time on the road trip and the valuable lessons they have learned about antique dealing. They both agree that while the road may have been bumpy at times, it was ultimately a rewarding and enriching experience.
