In Antiques Road Trip season 4 episode 24, expert antique dealers Paul Laidlaw and Catherine Southon embark on their final leg of their journey through Scotland and Northern England. The duo start off in Dundee, Scotland where they visit a museum that celebrates the city's maritime history. Catherine is drawn to several items, including a rare whaling harpoon and a model ship which she believes will fetch a good price at the auction.

Next, they head to St. Andrews where Catherine shows her knowledge of Scottish history when she examines a pair of early 20th-century "Apostle Spoons". These antique spoons were used for ceremonies in the Catholic Church and in this case, were used in St. Andrews' historic St. Salvator's Chapel. Paul also makes a discovery when he uncovers an unusual brass snuff box from the Victorian era.

The duo then travel to Newcastle and Gateshead to visit a number of antique shops. Catherine finds a rare and intricate silver hairpin from the Persian city of Isfahan, which she thinks will be a big hit with buyers. Paul also discovers some intriguing pieces such as a red telephone box and an antique leather case, but as always, they both face the challenge of acquiring these items at the right price and reselling them with a profit later.

As they approach the end of their Road Trip, Paul and Catherine make their way to an auction house in the small town of Leyburn in North Yorkshire. Catherine puts up her Persian hairpin, St. Andrews Apostle Spoons, and the model ship from Dundee. While Paul showcases a rare Victorian brass fireman's helmet he picked up on their travels and the snuff box he found in St. Andrews.

The episode builds up to the auction as the dealers watch how their items fare against each other. As always in Antiques Road Trip, there are highs and lows at the auction, and not everything goes to plan. However, the competition is fierce, and as the bids start climbing, tensions run high among the dealers, each trying to outdo the other.
