David Harper and Izzie Balmer continue their antique road trip today, taking a trip through the picturesque English countryside. Their journey takes them through villages with charming thatched cottages and rolling hills dotted with sheep.
The duo starts their day at the Wotton Auction Rooms in Gloucestershire, where they have a chance to preview some of the items up for auction. Izzie is immediately drawn to a beautiful Victorian cameo brooch, while David has his eye on an unusual portable table with folding legs. They also have a look at a collection of Staffordshire figurines, but Izzie isn't too keen on them.
At the auction, the bidding starts for the cameo brooch and quickly escalates. Izzie is determined to win it for her collection, but so is another bidder. The tension mounts as the bidding goes higher and higher, but Izzie finally emerges victorious. Meanwhile, David is thrilled to get the portable table for a great price.
Their next stop is the picturesque village of Lower Slaughter, where they visit the Old Mill Museum. Here, they learn about the history of the mill and view some of the exhibits, including a collection of antique farm machinery. Izzie finds a wooden butter churn that catches her eye, while David is intrigued by a rather battered-looking shepherd's crook.
Next up, the pair heads to Stroud, where they meet local antique dealer, Nigel Smith. Nigel has an impressive collection of items, including some rather eccentric pieces. Izzie is drawn to a pair of Art Deco lamps, while David can't resist a beautiful silver-plated toast rack.
Their next stop is the historic town of Bath, where they visit the Jane Austen Centre. Here, they learn about the author's life and work, and view some fascinating exhibits, including costumes from film adaptations of her books. Izzie is particularly impressed by a beautiful Regency-style tea set, while David marvels at a hand-crafted quill pen.
Their final stop of the day is the Georgian town of Tetbury, where they browse some local antique shops. Izzie finds a beautiful Art Nouveau perfume bottle that she simply has to have, while David comes across a pair of antique oak library chairs that would be perfect for his home.
The day draws to a close as they both reflect on their purchases and the day's experiences. Despite their competitive natures, there is a friendly and fun atmosphere between them as they continue their journey through the English countryside.
