Ep 15. Roo Irvine and Steven Moore, Day 5

Roo Irvine and Steven Moore are back on the road for day 5 of their Antiques Road Trip. The dynamic duo are exploring the quaint town of Woodstock and it's surrounding area in search of hidden treasures and valuable antiques. The day's journey begins at a local antiques center where the pair separate to scour the varied collections on display.

First, Steven Moore is on the hunt for some 20th-century glassware to add to his collection. He stumbles upon a stunning Italian Murano glass vase dating back to the 1950s. The seller is knowledgeable and offers up an interesting backstory about the vase which catches Steven's attention. However, the price is steep and he is unsure whether it's worth the investment.

Meanwhile, Roo Irvine discovers a collection of vintage postcards from the early 1900s. As a collector of ephemera, these postcards are right up her alley. She takes her time going through the collection which includes some rare and high-value pieces. After some bargaining, she manages to score a good deal and is very pleased with her purchase.

After reconvening, the pair stop off at a local auction house where they discover some hidden gems. Steven comes across a Georgian silver sugar sifter which he immediately falls in love with. The piece is in excellent condition and Steven believes he can get a great price for it. Roo, on the other hand, finds a Victorian piece of taxidermy which she hopes will catch the eye of a collector looking for something unique.

Next, the duo heads out to a nearby farm to meet with a seasoned antiques dealer. The dealer takes them on a tour of his vast collection which is kept in several barns. Roo is impressed by the wide range of antiques, everything from vintage farm tools and machinery to antique art and furniture. Steven manages to find a beautiful silver snuff box and Roo haggles with the dealer on a piece of furniture that would be perfect for a client of hers.

As the day winds down, the pair make a stop at a local antique store that has been in business for decades. They come across a quirky sculpture that catches their eye. The piece is made from found objects and is both fascinating and unique. Roo and Steven put in a joint bid on the piece and are thrilled to walk away with it at a great price.
