Antiques Road Trip is back with another exciting season, and in episode 2, antique experts Margie Cooper and Christina Trevanion venture towards the East Midlands and beyond in a quest to find some fantastic antiques and hidden treasures.
The episode begins with Margie and Christina setting out from their base with £200 each to spend on the road. The first stop on their journey is an antique shop in Northamptonshire, where Margie eyes up a Victorian mangle, while Christina is drawn to a brass oil lamp. After some haggling, Margie manages to secure the mangle for £35, while Christina buys the oil lamp for £45.
Their next stop is at an auction house in Stamford, where the duo tries their luck at securing some bargains. Margie takes a gamble on a pair of silver salt and pepper shakers, while Christina bids for a stunning Art Deco bracelet. Both items go under the hammer, but will Margie and Christina's gambles pay off?
The pair continues their journey with a visit to Rutland Water, taking a scenic boat ride to their next destination. They make their way to a charming antique store in Oakham, where Margie is smitten with a 19th-century Staffordshire figure, while Christina has her eye on a beautiful Art Nouveau vase. Will they be able to strike a deal with the store owner and add these items to their growing collection?
Margie and Christina then head towards Lincolnshire, where they visit an antique fair where they can test their skills as negotiators once again. In particular, Margie hopes to get her hands on an antique birdcage, while Christina admires a 1920s perfume bottle. Both items come with hefty price tags, so it's a question of whether the pair can use their charm and expertise to bring the prices down.
Finally, as the day draws to a close, Margie and Christina make their way to the last port of call - an antique shop in Louth. Margie is instantly drawn to a colourful set of Victorian tiles, while Christina has her sights on a French Art Deco figural lamp. Will they be able to come to an agreement with the shop owner, and will they make a profit on their day's haul?
Overall, Antiques Road Trip season 23 episode 2 is another thrilling installment of the popular program. With Margie and Christina's infectious enthusiasm, engaging personalities, and eye for the unusual, viewers are sure to be in for a real treat. Whether you're an antiques buff yourself or just looking for some great entertainment, this is definitely one show you won't want to miss.
