In Episode 8 of season 20 of Antiques Road Trip, our two expert antiquers, James Braxton and Christina Trevanion, continue on their journey through the stunning British countryside in search of exceptional antiques to buy and sell at auction.
We join the pair as they set off on a new day's adventure with high hopes of some extraordinary finds. They start by heading to a local auction where Christina is excited to find a rare piece of silver while James comes across a few unique porcelain items. The stakes are high as they bid for the antiques they are eyeing to sell at their own auction later in the week. Their competition is tough, and tensions are high as they both try to secure their prized items.
Next, the duo visits a fabulous manor house, which offers up a sensational variety of antique items. Christina goes head to head with James searching through a collection of modern artwork as they both try to catch the eye of the lady of the house with their bids. They also uncover some very valuable jewellery, and it becomes every man for himself as Christina and James both attempt to outdo each other to secure the items they believe will get them the highest return at auction.
The day ends with a visit to a famous British pottery company. Here, James and Christina are given a tour of the pottery museum and meet some of the company's master ceramic artists. They become fascinated in the art of pottery-making and even get the chance to try their hand at some of the techniques. The team then takes a tour of the company's enormous warehouse and marvel at the rows upon rows of magnificent pottery, each with a unique history. Battling it out once again, they both race to try and secure some of the very rare and valuable pieces.
Later that week, the duo heads back to the auction house where they put their prized and unique pieces up for sale. Throughout the auction, tension mounts as they both watch closely to see if their items fetch the prices they had hoped for. The excitement builds as the auctioneer calls out the bids, and the drama increases as we see who walks away with the most profit.
Overall, Episode 8 of season 20 of Antiques Road Trip provides the right balance of historical curiosity, competition, and anticipation. We're shown some incredible antique discoveries and get to see two of the UK's most fantastic expert collectors vying against each other in good sportsmanship. It's a captivating and entertaining episode that won't disappoint any antique enthusiasts.
