The seventeenth season of Antiques Road Trip presents to us the twelfth episode of the season that features a group of expert antique dealers who hit the road in classic cars, traveling across the UK on a mission to find rare and interesting items to sell at auction. In this latest episode, they are set out to explore the stunning countryside of Northern Ireland, hoping to discover a range of items that will fetch the highest price at auction.
Our expert dealers for this episode are Mark Stacey and Christina Trevanion, who set themselves a budget of £250 each, to spend on antiques and collectibles to sell later on at auction. They begin their journey at the well-known Ballymena Livestock Auction, hoping to find hidden gems amongst the bric-a-brac. Mark once again proves himself as a natural-born salesman, as he battles it out with another dealer for an unusual pair of brass lamps, while Christina sets her sights on a handcrafted table, hoping to sell it for a good price back in England.
Next on their list of places to visit is the town of Ballycastle, where they stop off at an antique shop, hoping to find some rare and valuable items. Mark is drawn to a collection of late 18th-century Waterford crystal glassware, hoping to sell it for a premium price. Meanwhile, Christina has her eye on a silver cigarette case, a piece that she believes will appeal to collectors of antique silverware.
As they continue their road trip, our expert dealers head to the world-famous Giant's Causeway, a natural wonder that has fascinated visitors for centuries. It's here that they discover a small antique shop that they cannot resist exploring. Mark is drawn to an antique snuff box, while Christina has her eye on a military-style compass. However, as they consider their purchases, they realize that their budget is dwindling fast and they need to be strategic with their spending.
The dealers take a break from their hunt for antiques and stop off at the historic Dunluce Castle, that was once home to the McQuillan clan. While enjoying the stunning sea views, they take a moment to relax and take stock of their purchases so far, realizing they might have to take a risk if they want to succeed at auction.
As the day unfolds, they visit another antique shop before ending up at auction in Bangor, Northern Ireland. As they watch the other lots go under the hammer, they reflect on their purchases of the day, hoping that their risks will pay off. Who will be the most successful dealer at auction, and who will walk away empty-handed?
In this episode, we follow Mark Stacey and Christina Trevanion on their journey through Northern Ireland, as they search for antiques and collectibles to sell later at auction.
