Antiques Road Trip season 16 episode 6 takes us on another thrilling adventure as experts Anita Manning and Mark Stacey are on the hunt for valuable antiques. In this episode, the experts explore the East Midlands, an area rich in history and culture, to uncover some hidden treasures.
The journey starts in the Northamptonshire village of Earls Barton where Mark and Anita visit a local antique dealer. Here, they come across a rare Victorian micro-mosaic brooch and a collection of enamel boxes which catch their attention.
Moving on to Nottingham, the duo heads to a grand stately home where they meet the owner who gives them a tour of the house and some inside information about the antiques housed within its walls. They come across a striking pair of Moorish-style chairs and a beautiful marble-topped table. Both items have a fascinating story behind them, and Mark and Anita have to decide which one to bid for at auction.
Next stop is a quaint antique shop in Lincoln where the pair spot a beautiful Art Deco mirror and some unusual Victorian candlesticks. They also visit Lincoln Cathedral to learn about its history and its links to one of England's most famous kings.
In Grantham, Mark and Anita enter an auction room where they are excited to see some stunning pieces including a collection of colourful glassware, an elegant Georgian mirror, and a valuable silver teapot. They have a limited budget, so they have to be strategic with their bidding.
Finally, the episode concludes in Derbyshire where the experts visit a country house with an impressive collection of antiques. Here, they uncover a fascinating pair of African tribal masks, and a beautiful set of china with a unique floral pattern.
Throughout the journey, Mark and Anita share their expertise and give valuable insights into the history and value of the antiques they encounter. They also have some fun banter as they compete with each other to find the best bargains and make some money for their chosen charities.
