In the first episode of season 16 of Antiques Road Trip, two expert antique dealers hit the road in search of unique and valuable items they can sell at auction. Presenter and auctioneer Thomas Plant and antiques expert Natasha Raskin Sharp set off from the English town of Dundee in search of treasures from Scotland to sell at auction.
Their first stop is in Burntisland where they meet a dealer who has a wide range of items for sale, including vintage watches and postcards. Thomas is fascinated by a small clock that features a miniature mousetrap, while Natasha is drawn to a set of vintage binoculars.
Next, the pair head to St Andrews where they meet a dealer who specializes in arms and armor. Thomas is impressed by a set of antique rifles, but Natasha is more interested in a delicate ivory carving of a bird.
Their final stop of the day is in Edinburgh where they visit an antique shop filled with unique items, including a set of silver napkin rings and a vintage pair of scissors. Thomas is intrigued by a large, ornate mirror, while Natasha is drawn to a collection of miniature portraits.
As the day comes to a close, Thomas and Natasha head to the auction house to see how much they can get for the items they've acquired. Will they make a profit, or will they be left empty-handed?
