Antiques Road Trip Season 15 Episode 15 takes us on a journey through the quaint towns of Kent and East Sussex with antique experts Christina Trevanion and Raj Bisram. While their aim is to find the best antiques that can be sold at auctions, they also get to explore the towns and their history, making this episode a delightful watch for both history and antique enthusiasts.
The episode starts in the beautiful town of Rye, Sussex, where Christina and Raj visit an antique shop that is brimming with unique pieces. Raj sets his sights on a rare piece of pottery, while Christina finds a striking Art Deco lamp that she thinks will do well at auction. Later, they head to the Rye Castle Museum to learn about the history of the town and its connection to the smuggling trade in the 18th century.
The next stop takes them to Cranbrook, Kent, where they visit a dealer who specializes in antique jewelry. Christina takes a liking to a stunning Georgian diamond brooch, while Raj is drawn to a silver snuff box embellished with intricate designs. After a quick visit to St. Dunstan's Church, where they admire the ornate stained glass windows, they head to Tonbridge to hunt for more antiques.
In Tonbridge, Christina and Raj visit a collector who has an impressive collection of World War I memorabilia. Raj is thrilled to come across a rare trench watch that he hopes will fetch a good price at auction, while Christina finds a beautifully crafted silver inkstand that she believes will attract bidders. After a brief trip to the historic Tonbridge Castle, they hit the road again and make their way to their final destination - Battle.
In Battle, Christina and Raj visit a quirky antique shop where they both find items that they love. Christina is drawn to a funky 1960s chair, while Raj has his eye on a French jardiniere. They take a break from antique hunting to visit the Battle Abbey, the site of the famous Battle of Hastings in 1066. They explore the ruins of the abbey and learn about the history of the famous battle that changed the course of English history.
After a fruitful day of hunting for antiques, Christina and Raj head to the auction house in Lewes, where they hope to sell their items for a good price. With intense bidding from collectors and enthusiasts, the auction proves to be a nail-biting experience for our antique experts. Will their items fetch a good price or will the bidders go cold?
