Antiques Road Trip is a popular BBC television series that takes viewers on a journey through the UK countryside as two antiques dealers compete against each other to find and sell the most valuable pieces of antiques. Season 14 Episode 12, simply titled "Episode 12", is no exception as we witness our two dealers, Charles Hanson and Margie Cooper set off on another exciting adventure.
The episode begins with Charles and Margie setting off from their starting point, which for this episode is in Devon. From here, they make their way to their first destination, which is an antiques shop in Lyme Regis. It quickly becomes clear that the competition is fierce as both dealers begin to search for unique and valuable items. In true Antiques Road Trip fashion, we see Margie and Charles explore the shop, rummaging through items and haggling with the shopkeeper to buy items for the best possible price. We're treated to some interesting finds such as antique candlesticks and vintage jewellery, as well as some quirky artefacts that spark some lively banter between the two competitors.
After leaving the antiques shop, Charles and Margie hit the road once again. This time, they're heading to a nearby auction house to sell their treasures. We see them both nervously prepare their items for auction and strategize on how best to sell them for the highest price possible. As the auction begins, tension mounts as both dealers sit on the edge of their seats, hoping to make a profit on their purchases. The auctioneer calls out the bids, and soon we see which of our experts has made the better investment decisions.
Leaving the auction house, the two dealers head to their next destination, which is a picturesque country estate. Here, they meet the charming owner, who shows them around the stunning property and introduces them to some of the family heirlooms that have been passed down through generations. We see the dealers peruse the ornate furnishings and delicate china, as they gain insight into the fascinating history behind these items.
From the estate, Margie and Charles make their way to a nearby market town. Here, they discover a unique antique shop that specializes in quirky pieces. Charles, in particular, seems excited at the opportunity to find something unusual that will catch the eye of collectors. We see him explore the shop and sift through the collection of antique toys and vintage advertising signs, as Margie looks on bemused. Eventually, they both walk away with some interesting finds, and we're left wondering if this will be enough to edge them ahead in the competition.
As the episode draws to a close, our intrepid dealers head to their final destination - an auction house in Somerset. Here, they hope to sell their remaining items for a tidy profit. Again, we see them nervously waiting as the auctioneer calls out the bids. It's a nail-biting conclusion, as we see Margie and Charles vying for the highest prices. In the end, only one can be the winner, and the tension finally lifts as the auctioneer announces the final bids.
Season 14 Episode 12 of Antiques Road Trip certainly doesn't disappoint. We're treated to a fun-filled journey full of fascinating antiques, beautiful countryside, and lively competition between two expert dealers. It's a captivating glimpse into the world of antiques dealing and a must-watch for all fans of the show.
