Antiques Road Trip is a popular British television programme where two antiques experts travel around the country in a vintage car, visiting various antiques shops and fairs in search of rare and valuable items that they can later sell at auction. Each episode is packed with interesting historical facts and fascinating behind-the-scenes stories about the antiques trade, making it a must-watch for anyone with an interest in antiques and collecting.

In Antiques Road Trip season 12 episode 24, the two experts featured are Christina Trevanion and Timothy Medhurst. Christina is a well-known auctioneer and antiques dealer who has appeared on a number of other TV programmes, including Bargain Hunt and Flog It! Timothy is a highly respected antiques dealer who specialises in European ceramics and has a particular interest in the decorative arts.

The episode begins with the pair setting off from Clevedon in a green Morris Minor convertible, heading towards their first destination, an antiques fair in Tavistock. Along the way, they discuss their strategies for finding the best bargains, with Timothy admitting that he likes to take a more cautious approach and research items thoroughly before making a purchase, while Christina is more of a risk-taker and likes to rely on her instincts.

At the fair, the experts split up to cover more ground, each on the lookout for interesting items that they can buy for a bargain and later sell for a profit. Christina finds an unusual Victorian terracotta bust of a lady, while Timothy is drawn to a charming 19th-century stoneware jug decorated with intricate floral patterns. Both items are within their budget, so they snap them up and head off to their next destination, an auction house in Plymouth.

At the auction house, the experts meet with the resident valuer, who takes a closer look at their purchases and offers her expert opinion on what they might fetch at auction. She is particularly impressed with Christina's terracotta bust, which she believes could go for as much as £300-£400. Timothy's stoneware jug is also deemed to be of good quality and is given an estimated value of around £100.

With their items now valued, Christina and Timothy must decide whether to hold on to their purchases or try to sell them at auction for a profit. Christina decides to take a gamble and put her bust up for auction, while Timothy decides to hold on to his jug and try to sell it privately.

The next day, the experts visit the charming coastal town of Looe, where they discover a unique antiques shop that specializes in nautical memorabilia. Here, Christina finds a rare piece of early 20th-century ship equipment, while Timothy is drawn to a beautiful hand-painted porcelain plaque featuring a stunning seascape scene.

Once again, the experts head to an auction house, this time in Truro, where they meet with the resident auctioneer and get their items appraised. The ship equipment is deemed to be a little niche, but the auctioneer believes it could fetch around £50-£100 at auction, while the porcelain plaque is given an estimated value of £150-£200.

With their final purchases of the day valued, Christina and Timothy decide to hold on to them and not risk them at auction. However, they do get a chance to witness some exciting bidding action, as they watch a number of other items go under the hammer, including a rare set of vintage Beatles records that sell for an impressive £800.

Antiques Road Trip season 12 episode 24 is a high-energy, high-stakes adventure that sees Christina and Timothy scouring the country for the best possible deals, taking risks and making shrewd investments in the hope of making a profit at auction. With their unique blend of expertise, wit, and charm, the two experts make for highly engaging and entertaining viewing, and the show is sure to delight anyone with a love of antiques and collectibles.
