Animal Precinct season 4 episode 6, titled "Left Behind," follows the animal cruelty investigators of the New York City American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) on their mission to rescue abandoned and mistreated animals. In this episode, the team responds to a call about a group of dogs found wandering in an empty lot in Brooklyn.

Upon arrival, the team discovers a group of four dogs huddled together in the corner of the lot. The dogs are malnourished and covered in fleas and ticks, and it quickly becomes apparent that they have been abandoned by their owner. The investigators work quickly to capture the dogs and bring them back to the ASPCA's Animal Hospital for treatment.

At the hospital, the dogs receive medical attention and are given much-needed baths. Despite their previous mistreatment, the dogs show signs of friendliness and affection toward their rescuers. However, their road to recovery is not without challenges, as the team must work to gain the dogs' trust and assess their behavioral issues.

Meanwhile, the investigators receive a call about a group of cats found living in an abandoned building in Queens. The building is in poor condition, with crumbling walls and floors, and the cats are living in squalid conditions. The team must navigate the dangerous building to capture the cats and bring them to safety.

With the help of a local resident who has been feeding the cats, the investigators are able to locate them within the building. However, the cats are scared and reluctant to come out of hiding. It takes patience and skill to capture them without causing injury, but the team is ultimately successful in rescuing all of the cats.

Back at the Animal Hospital, the cats are examined by veterinarians and given food and water. Like the dogs, they are covered in fleas and ticks and require treatment for their poor condition. The investigators work to socialize the cats and assess their personalities in order to find them loving homes.

Throughout the episode, the Animal Precinct team shows their dedication to animal welfare and their compassion for these mistreated and abandoned animals. Their tireless efforts to rescue and rehabilitate these animals showcase the importance of organizations like the ASPCA in combating animal cruelty and neglect.

"Left Behind" is a heart-warming and emotional episode that highlights the important work of animal welfare investigators and the impact they can make on the lives of animals in need.
