In the sixth episode of Animal Kingdom's second season, titled "Cry Havoc," tensions within the Cody family are at an all-time high. With Smurf in jail and her family scrambling to maintain their criminal empire, cracks begin to form in their once tight-knit unit.
As the episode begins, J's inexperience as the new head of the household becomes painfully apparent. He struggles to keep the family business running smoothly, and his lack of experience and expertise begins to cause friction among the other Codys. Meanwhile, Smurf's absence continues to weigh heavily on everyone's minds. Pope, in particular, seems to be taking her imprisonment the hardest.
Throughout the episode, we see the Codys dealing with the aftermath of a big heist gone wrong. Their planned job falls apart when a rival gang shows up unexpectedly, leaving the family scrambling to salvage what they can in the aftermath. As they try to regroup and figure out their next move, tensions continue to simmer. Baz, in particular, seems to be growing increasingly resentful of J's leadership.
Meanwhile, Smurf's fellow inmates begin to take notice of her powerful position in the criminal underworld. She finds herself caught up in a power struggle between two other inmates, both of whom want to use her connections and influence to further their own ends. As Smurf navigates the complex web of prison politics, she realizes that even behind bars, she still has power and influence that she can wield.
As the episode nears its climax, tensions finally boil over. The Codys find themselves embroiled in a violent brawl with their rivals, and the situation quickly spirals out of control. The family is forced to make some tough decisions as they try to hold onto their territory and protect their interests.
In the end, "Cry Havoc" leaves us with more questions than answers. Can the Codys overcome their internal strife and work together to maintain their criminal empire? Will J step up and become the leader they need him to be? And most importantly, what will become of Smurf and her powerful position within the prison system? We'll have to keep watching to find out.
