Angry Kid is a British adult animated sitcom created by Darren Walsh and involves a young lad known as the "Angry Kid" who is frequently getting into trouble as a result of his temper and mischievous personality. Despite his juvenile stature, the Angry Kid is crude, immature, and often engages in vulgar behavior. The show pushes the boundaries of what is considered socially and morally acceptable.
Season 1 episode 4 titled "Blood Juice" centers around the Angry Kid's pursuit of a new drink sensation that he and his friend are obsessed with. The opening scene shows the Angry Kid and his pal Thirsty out on their bikes, trying to come up with creative ideas for their after-school juice venture. The Angry Kid instantly dismisses Thirsty's idea of using celery as the main ingredient for their juice bar and instead proposes using blood as the primary component.
Upon returning home, the Angry Kid immediately raids the fridge for ingredients, grabbing any item he thinks will complement his drink. He combines ketchup, hot sauce, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce with pig's blood, creating an unappetizing drink that he thinks is a masterpiece. He passes the drink to his dad and waits in anticipation for his reaction. His dad takes a sip and instantly throws up, not handling the taste of the drink.
Undeterred by his dad's reaction, the Angry Kid continues to perfect his recipe, even using his own blood as a new ingredient. He convinces his friend Thirsty to try the new Bloody Juice, and upon tasting it, Thirsty collapses. The Angry Kid instantly panics, believing he has poisoned his friend. He rushes Thirsty to the hospital, with the juice in his backpack.
At the hospital, the doctors fail to recognize that Thirsty's collapse is due to the juice and send him back home. The Angry Kid watches nervously as his friend's condition worsens. He decides to throw the remaining juice away and replaces it with water, hoping to cover his tracks. However, things take a turn for the worse when the Angry Kid vomits and collapses himself, only for his mother to find the discarded juice bottle.
She realizes that her son's drink is the cause of the problem and immediately takes both her son and his friend back to the hospital. The doctors quickly recognize that both boys are suffering from severe dehydration due to the high salt content in the Bloody Juice. The Angry Kid feels terribly guilty for what he has done and apologizes to Thirsty, promising to never engage in such risky ventures again.
In the closing scenes, the boys receive treatment and are shown walking through the hospital, drinking normal water, and talking about their next scheme, much to the disapproving look of the hospital staff. Overall, the episode highlights the misguided adventurous and risky behavior that young kids can get into without proper guidance. It also highlights the importance of taking accountability and owning up to one's mistakes.
