Andy's Prehistoric Adventures season 3 episode 4, titled "Andrewsarchus and Tooth," follows Andy as he travels back in time to meet two fascinating creatures. In this episode, Andy sets his time-traveling watch to take him back 37 million years to Mongolia, where he hopes to meet the largest mammalian predator of all time, Andrewsarchus.
Once Andy arrives in the prehistoric past, he immediately sets out on his quest to find Andrewsarchus. Along the way, he encounters a number of other interesting animals, including a herd of brontotheres and some nimble little protoceratops. As he searches for Andrewsarchus, Andy marvels at the vast open landscapes that existed during this era, and at the incredible diversity of life that once called these plains home.
Eventually, Andy's search for Andrewsarchus leads him to a muddy riverbank, where he finds the massive beast in the flesh. Andrewsarchus measures nearly 20 feet in length and would have weighed over a ton, making it a truly formidable predator. Andy is thrilled to have the chance to observe Andrewsarchus up close and to learn more about its hunting habits and lifestyle.
As Andy watches, Andrewsarchus suddenly spots its prey, a small herd of nimble little horses that have strayed too close to the river. In a flash, Andrewsarchus charges after the horses, using its massive jaws to snap at their heels. Though the horses are fast, Andrewsarchus is relentless, and eventually, it manages to grab one in its teeth. Andy watches in awe as Andrewsarchus devours its prey, marveling at the sheer power and ferocity of this ancient predator.
After spending some time observing Andrewsarchus, Andy sets off to learn more about another fascinating creature from this era, the giant pig-like animal known as Daeodon. With the help of his time-traveling watch, Andy journeys back even further in time to a period when the world was warmer and wetter, and where the forests were filled with strange and fascinating creatures.
As he explores this ancient landscape, Andy soon comes across a group of enormous Daeodon, some of the largest and most impressive animals of their time. With their massive jaws and sharp teeth, the Daeodon would have been a formidable predator in their own right, though they were mainly scavengers that lived off the remains of dead animals.
With the help of a small robot companion named Jen (who has been a fixture of the series since the beginning), Andy explores the forests and rivers of this prehistoric world in search of more information about Daeodon. Along the way, they come across a variety of other strange and fascinating creatures, including enormous crocodiles, massive horned reptiles, and even some early primates.
As the episode comes to a close, Andy reflects on all that he has seen and learned, marveling at the incredible diversity of life that once existed on our planet. Despite the many challenges and dangers he faced, he feels a profound sense of gratitude for the opportunity to experience these prehistoric wonders first-hand, and wonders what other incredible creatures he may encounter on his next adventure.
