One in a Minyan, the eleventh episode of Andi Mack season 4, continues to follow the lives of teenagers Andi, Jonah, Buffy, and Cyrus as they navigate their way through high school and personal relationships.
The episode begins with Andi and Bex attending a Shiva with Celia's family. While there, Andi is reminded of the importance of community and wants to create her own with her friends. She decides to organize a Minyan, a group of ten people needed for certain Jewish prayers, with her friends. Buffy and Cyrus are hesitant to participate, but eventually agree to join in.
As they prepare for the Minyan, Jonah is struggling with his own personal issues. His new manager is putting too much pressure on him to produce new music and Jonah fears that he will never live up to his expectations. This leads to tension between Jonah and Andi as she tries to help him but he pushes her away.
Meanwhile, Buffy is dealing with her own issues. She is starting to feel like an outsider in her own friend group because of her different interests and experiences. She confides in Andi about her feelings and they have an honest conversation about how their friendship may change as they grow up.
On the day of the Minyan, everything seems to be going smoothly until they realize they only have nine people and need one more for the prayers to be valid. They frantically search for someone to fill the tenth spot and finally find someone unexpected.
The episode ends with the Minyan prayer being successful and the friends feeling a sense of community and togetherness. Jonah comes to a realization about his music and decides to approach it in a different way, while Buffy and Andi's friendship strengthens as they embrace their differences.
Overall, One in a Minyan tackles important themes of community, friendship, and personal growth, showcasing the relatable struggles of teenage life.
