The hit reality show American Pickers is back with a brand new episode, titled "The Georgia Gambler", which takes place in Georgia. In this episode, hosts Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz embark on another treasure-hunting journey through the southern states, checking out antique shops, garage sales, and private collections in search of rare and valuable items. The Georgia Gambler is the 15th episode of season 13 and continues the tradition of exploring the forgotten treasures of America.
The episode opens with Mike and Frank driving through the Georgia countryside, discussing their excitement for the day ahead. They arrive at a local antiques shop, hoping to find some hidden gems. The shop owner, who is known for his love of gambling, takes the guys on a tour of his collection, which includes vintage slot machines, pinball games, and other gambling memorabilia. Mike and Frank are drawn to a rare slot machine from the 1920s and work hard to negotiate a fair price with the shop owner.
Next, Mike and Frank head to a local collector's house to browse through his vast collection. The collector has everything from vintage toys to antique furniture and even an old carriage from the 1800s. Mike and Frank are amazed by the variety and quality of the items on display, and even discover a rare, hand-painted circus sign from the early 1900s.
Later in the episode, the pickers visit a family-owned junkyard, hoping to uncover some rusty treasures. The junkyard has been in the family for generations and is filled with old cars, machinery, and scrap metal. Mike and Frank get down and dirty, sifting through piles of junk, and eventually find a rare radiator ornament for a vintage car.
Throughout the episode, Mike and Frank also explore some of the local history, visiting an old train depot and a Civil War museum. They learn about the important role Georgia played in the Civil War and are fascinated by the stories of bravery and sacrifice that occurred on these same streets so long ago.
