Ep 2. Frank Almighty

In the second episode of season 6 of American Pickers: Best of, titled "Frank Almighty," we see the ever-entertaining duo of Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz continuing their adventures in the world of antique picking. This episode takes place in Michigan, where the pair tangle with a local legend.

As always, the two men are on the hunt for unique and valuable items to add to their collection. Their first stop is at a property owned by a man who considers himself the king of picking items. He has been collecting for over sixty years and has filled his land with everything from vintage gas pumps to old vending machines. Determined not to be shut out for the day, they soon find themselves at another property, where they meet a man who goes by the name of "Brother Mike." He's an artist who has spent many years collecting pieces to use in his work. Mike and Frank are immediately struck by his incredible collection, which includes rare and unique items such as a life-sized horse made of steel, a 1930s carnival ride, and a goat cart from the early 1900s. Brother Mike is willing to sell, but he's attached to his pieces, and the negotiations are tense.

The third stop of the day takes Mike and Frank to an old auto shop, where they meet a man named Ken. He has an impressive collection of automobiles, including a 1964 Dodge Dart, a 1950s-era Chevy wrecker, and a 1930s Chevy Coupe. However, the pickers are most intrigued by a vintage gas pump that Ken has owned for over thirty years. Impressed with its exceptional condition, they quickly decide to buy it.

Later in the episode, Mike and Frank visit an old taxidermy shop. The owner, who is also a taxidermist, is looking to sell some of his pieces before he retires. He shows the pickers an impressive collection of mounted animals, including a rare albino deer, a giant moose head, and a grizzly bear. Mike and Frank are both fascinated by the unique pieces and quickly make offers.

Finally, Mike and Frank visit an elderly collector who has an incredible amount of items that have never been seen by anyone outside of his family. The items include a collection of vintage signs, old gas pumps, a barber chair, and an antique coffee grinder. The collector tells the pickers that he would like to pass on his collection to someone who will appreciate it as much as he has, and Mike and Frank are quick to make an offer.

Throughout the episode, we see the audience is treated to the entertaining banter between Mike and Frank, as they try to negotiate the best deals possible. They often haggle with the sellers, making them laugh and creating an enjoyable atmosphere. While sometimes negotiations are challenging, they always remain respectful and leave with an appreciation for the pieces they've found.
