The third episode of American Odyssey season 1 is titled "Drop King." After escaping from Mali and gaining access to a internet cafe, Odelle discovers that Luc's laptop contains sensitive information about the mysterious al-Fayeed's interests in the United States. Meanwhile, Peter's investigation into Senator Darnell's murder gains some traction when he discovers a connection between the senator and a notorious drug kingpin named Aslam Pervez. Meanwhile, Harrison sets out to find his missing sister, who he believes was kidnapped by the same group of mercenaries that ambushed Odelle's team.
As the episode begins, Odelle and Aslam set out to find a buyer for the sensitive information that they stole from al-Fayeed's laptop. They connect with a man named Malik, who works as a broker for various terrorist groups. Although Malik expresses interest in purchasing the information, he ultimately decides that it's too risky and declines. Meanwhile, Luc sets out to meet with a contact in New York City who may be able to help him learn more about the true nature of al-Fayeed's interests in the United States.
Elsewhere, Peter continues to delve deeper into the connection between Senator Darnell and Aslam Pervez. He meets with a prison informant who provides him with some valuable information about the drug kingpin's operations and his connection to Darnell. As Peter gets closer to uncovering the truth, he finds himself in danger and narrowly escapes a violent attack.
Back in Mali, Harrison sets out to find his missing sister and track down the mercenaries who he believes abducted her. He teams up with a local guide named Osman, who helps him navigate the dangerous landscape and locate the mercenaries' camp. However, when they arrive, they find that the camp has been abandoned and their trail goes cold.
As the episode comes to a close, Odelle and Aslam are ambushed by a group of armed men. They manage to fend off their attackers and escape, but not before Aslam is badly injured. Meanwhile, Luc's contact tells him that al-Fayeed's interests in the United States are more sinister than he could have ever imagined.
