- August 4, 2013
The episode titled "Baltimore Finals (1)" is an exciting installment in the fifth season of the popular sports competition American Ninja Warrior. The episode features top athletes from all over the country as they converge on the city of Baltimore to compete in the finals of one of the most grueling and challenging obstacle course competitions in the world.
This episode marks the first of a two-part series in which competitors compete for a chance to advance to the National Finals in Las Vegas. In order to qualify for the national competition, contestants must complete a series of daunting obstacles, including the Spider Climb, the Salmon Ladder, and the Warped Wall, among others.
The competitors in this episode include a diverse mix of professional athletes, seasoned veterans, and up-and-coming amateurs, all vying for the chance to make it to the big leagues and compete for the title of American Ninja Warrior. Among the contestants are several fan favorites, such as J.J. Woods, Drew Drechsel, and Joe Moravsky, all of whom have been training for this moment for months, if not years.
As the episode begins, viewers are treated to a montage of highlights from the qualifying rounds, showcasing some of the most thrilling and heart-stopping moments from the competition so far. Then, we are introduced to the four challengers who will be competing in the Baltimore Finals: Alan Connealy, Sarah Schoback, Brett Sims, and Brandi Monte.
The first challenge of the Baltimore Finals is the Jumping Spider, a difficult obstacle that requires contestants to make a giant leap and cling onto a wall using nothing but their hands and feet. Alan Connealy makes quick work of the Jumping Spider, easily bounding from one platform to the next with grace and agility. Sarah Schoback is up next, and although she initially struggles to get a footing, she eventually manages to push through and complete the challenge.
Next up is the Floating Steps, a series of six wobbly, floating platforms that competitors must navigate across without falling in the water below. Brett Sims breezes through this challenge, his long arms and legs helping him to easily reach each platform. Brandi Monte, on the other hand, is struggling to keep her balance, but manages to make it past the first few steps before slipping and falling into the water below.
Then comes the Log Grip, a deceptively simple challenge that requires competitors to hang onto a spinning log using nothing but their hands and feet. Alan Connealy is the first to attempt the Log Grip, and he makes it look easy, using his strong grip and quick reflexes to maintain his balance. Sarah Schoback, however, loses her footing early on and falls off the log, ending her run.
As the episode progresses, tensions continue to rise as the obstacles become more and more difficult. The competitors must navigate a wide range of challenges, from the Tilting Table to the Wall Lift, all while trying to stay focused, composed, and determined.
Ultimately, the episode ends on a cliffhanger, as the last two competitors, Brett Sims and Brandi Monte, prepare to face down the fearsome Warped Wall, the final obstacle of the night. The Warped Wall is a towering structure that requires competitors to run up a steep ramp, catch onto the edge of a ledge, and then pull themselves up and over the top.
Will Brett Sims and Brandi Monte be able to conquer the Warped Wall and advance to the National Finals in Las Vegas? Or will they fall short, ending their dreams of glory and victory? Fans will have to tune in to the next episode to find out.
Overall, the Baltimore Finals (1) episode of American Ninja Warrior season 5 is a thrilling and action-packed installment in the series, showcasing the incredible athleticism, strength, and determination of the world's top obstacle course athletes. With heart-pounding challenges, nail-biting finishes, and plenty of drama, this episode will leave viewers on the edge of their seats, eagerly awaiting the next installment in the series.
