Ep 8. The Egg / The Heist

In season 1 episode 8 of American Dragon: Jake Long, Jake's class is tasked with taking care of an egg for a school project. However, the egg turns out to be a dragon egg and soon hatches into a baby dragon that Jake decides to take under his wing.
Meanwhile, a notorious thief named Hans Rotwood comes to town and starts stealing magical artifacts. Jake's grandfather, who is also a dragon, warns him that Rotwood is after a dragon-scale that belongs to their family. Jake must find a way to protect the scale and stop Rotwood before it's too late.
As Jake juggles taking care of the baby dragon and battling Rotwood, he also has to deal with personal issues. He tries to impress Rose, a girl he has a crush on, but she seems to be more interested in his new friend, the baby dragon.
The episode is filled with action-packed and comedic moments as Jake and his friends try to outsmart Rotwood and protect the dragon-scale. In the end, Jake learns that sometimes the things he wants aren't as important as the things he needs to protect and care for.
