In American Dragon: Jake Long season 1 episode 7 titled "Professor Rotwood's Thesis," Jake's nemesis Professor Rotwood becomes a major roadblock in Jake's life when he becomes convinced that Jake is a dragon.
Jake is at the top of his game as a dragon, but he has to keep his identity a secret from humans. When his school's biology class has a unit on mythical creatures, Jake decides it's time to take a break from his duties as the American Dragon and enjoy a bit of mythological fun.
Unfortunately for Jake, Professor Rotwood is teaching the class, and he has a fascination with dragons. His conclusion is that they are real and that there are still living specimens among us. When he catches Jake showing his dragon abilities, it takes Jake's life as the American Dragon to a whole new level of danger.
Jake's archenemy Rotwood becomes obsessed with proving the existence of dragons to the world. He invites a journalist to the school to document his findings, and Jake has to find a way to stop him before it's too late.
Jake and his friends Trixie and Spud get to the bottom of everything. They discover that Rotwood has been collecting evidence to prove that dragons are real for years. So, instead of letting Rotwood expose Jake's secret identity and the magical world, Jake has to try and stop his professor before he's exposed himself.
Things get heated up when a mysterious girl arrives at school, it turns out she's another dragon named Rose, who looks like Jake's alter ego. Jake has some competition when Rose flirts with him, causing Trixie and Spud to get jealous of Jake's new friend.
Meanwhile, Jake's dad is dealing with his own dragon troubles by trying to be a better father and find ways to connect with his son. He thinks he might have found common ground with Jake when he shares an interest in Japanese swords, which leads to an epic showdown between father and son.
Overall, the episode is full of twists and turns. It's an intense and action-packed adventure with plenty of humor and heart. From Jake's dragon skills to his dad's midlife crisis, viewers will enjoy every minute of it.
