Ep 9. Fartbreak Hotel

Stan Smith, the patriotic and zealous CIA agent is back again with his eclectic family for a zany and belly-laughing new season of American Dad. In season 6, episode 9, titled Fartbreak Hotel, the Smiths face their latest challenge in the form of Stan's boss, a super strict and humorless woman named Bullock.

Bullock has demanded that Stan send one of his agents undercover to infiltrate a gang of drug dealers by posing as a prison inmate. Not surprisingly, Stan himself 'volunteers' for the task. He banters with the rascally inmates until he discovers that they plan to smuggle in drugs in the form of "balloons," meaning they will swallow them and then, well, pass them through their digestive systems. Yuck!

Thus begins a sleuthing adventure for Stan as he attempts to find out who among the prisoners is the ringleader. This task becomes even more complicated when the warden calls a lockdown, so the inmates are all confined to their cells. But, as always, genius strikes and Stan comes up with a clever plan to get access to the bodily functions of his cellmates...by way of convincing them to pass gas.

Meanwhile, back at home, the Smith household is facing a bit of a crisis as well. Somehow, Roger has gained popularity as a Bel Biv Devoe cover band frontman and he's become a diva of sorts. When Hayley, the Smith's liberal and peace-loving daughter, attempts to upstage him by forming a new all-girl band, Roger feels threatened and plans to sabotage the concerts by farting on stage. Disgusting, but hilarious.

Stan's plans to catch the drug smugglers go awry when the inmates, disgusted by his obsession with their flatulence, band together and fight back. At the same time, Hayley's concert becomes a battleground of gas attacks with various members of the bands performing on stage ripping some pretty significant farts. It's pandemonium and side-splitting laughs all around.

In conclusion, American Dad season 6, episode 9, Fartbreak Hotel, is another unforgettable and unpredictable episode of this beloved animated series. There are so many reasons why audiences love this show, from its irreverent humor and witty writing to its well-developed characters and quirky plot twists.
