Stan Smith's son, Steve, has finally reached his 14th birthday and wants to get a job at a local fast food restaurant but to his surprise, his father opposes the plan. A fight ensues and Steve, feeling rebellious, decides to take matters into his own hands and joins a group of tree-planting hippies. However, little does he know that the group is actually a dangerous cult that brainwashes its members into doing their bidding.
Meanwhile, Francine, Stan's wife, tries to intervene in their argument but is unsuccessful. She then seeks the help of Roger, the family's alien boarder, who suggests they try to bond over Steve's interests. They soon discover that Steve's love for musicals could be the key to reaching him. They form a musical group, with Roger as the lead singer and Stan playing the drums, and record a song for Steve to show their support.
As Steve gets more involved with the cult, he begins to feel isolated from his family and starts to question his loyalty to the group. He confides in a fellow member, who turns out to be a spy working for Stan. The spy tells Steve about the group's true intentions, which involve blowing up a dam and causing a flood that will wipe out the local town.
With the help of his family and the spy, Steve sets out to stop the cult from carrying out their plan. In an epic showdown, they manage to defeat the cult and save the town. The experience brings the family closer together and Stan finally realizes the importance of supporting his son's dreams.
Overall, Son of Stan, Part 2 of 2 is a thrilling episode that explores themes of family, rebellion, and the dangers of extremism. The musical interludes add a lighthearted touch to the serious subject matter, making for an entertaining and thought-provoking experience.
