In American Dad season 4 episode 15 titled "Wife Insurance," Stan Smith, the family's patriarch, becomes increasingly paranoid about his wife, Francine, being unfaithful to him. In order to protect his heart and assets, he purchases wife insurance through Bullock, his CIA boss.
Stan's behavior becomes increasingly erratic as he tries to catch Francine in the act of cheating. He plants hidden cameras and microphones all over the house, and even goes so far as to hire a private investigator to follow her around town. However, each time he thinks he's caught her, it turns out to be a false alarm.
In the meantime, Roger, the alien living with the family, is dealing with his own issues. He's developed an addiction to a local snack food called Chocodiles, and his constant gluttony is starting to have serious health consequences. He tries to clean up his act, but ultimately succumbs to temptation and winds up back on the Chocodiles.
As the episode progresses, Stan's paranoia comes to a head. He becomes convinced that Francine is not only cheating on him, but that she's planning to kill him as well. He hatches a plan to fake his own death, with the help of Bullock and the CIA. However, things don't go quite as planned, and Stan finds himself in a dangerous situation.
In the end, all of the various plotlines come together in a hilarious and unexpected climax. As usual, American Dad delivers a mix of irreverent humor and clever social commentary that will keep audiences laughing from start to finish.
