Ep 12. Widowmaker

Stan Smith, the lead character in American Dad, is a CIA agent whose life revolves around his secret mission. In the third season's twelfth episode, Widowmaker, the viewers witness Stan's adventurous undertaking.

The team has to travel to the scientist's residence in Montana to get the serum’s recipe, but they need to do it quickly, or else Stan will die.

The path to getting the recipe is not an easy one since they have to deal with the stiff, cold-hearted granddaughter, Phyllis. However, as they recount their experience in the Columbian jungle and the dangers they faced, they play on Phyllis's emotions, and she finally agrees. She hands over the recipe for the Serum, and the team returns to the CIA headquarters just in time to save Stan's life.

The show contrasts the humorous and comedic elements of the show with the potentially perilous situation that Stan finds himself in. The humor element of the show comes from the situations that the team faces. The team consistently finds themselves in hilarious situations, such as the part where the Widowmaker spider's venom has a side effect of turning Stan into a paranoid maniac.
