When Stan's wife, Francine, invites two of her married housewife friends over for lunch, he initially protests but ultimately relents. However, he finds their conversation about cooking, housework, and their husbands mundane. Meanwhile, Roger, an extraterrestrial who lives with the Smith family in disguise, is apparently suffering from amnesia and doesn't know who he is or why he's on Earth.
Stan decides to spice things up by suggesting they have a "wife swap," where his friends switch partners for the day. However, things quickly spiral out of control as the husbands find themselves in over their heads trying to keep up with their new wives' demanding lifestyles and personalities. Roger, meanwhile, is convinced that he's a CIA operative and recruits Haley, the Smiths' liberal daughter, to help him save the world.
As the day progresses, Stan and his friends find themselves embroiled in a series of hilarious misadventures, from accidentally setting the kitchen on fire to getting lost in a mall. Meanwhile, Roger and Haley's attempt to foil an imaginary terrorist plot backfires when they inadvertently cause a real panic.
In the end, the wives return to their husbands, who are relieved to have their old lives back. However, Roger's memory is restored when he falls into a pool, and he realizes that he's actually a space alien. Along with his new-found knowledge comes a newfound appreciation for life on Earth, and he pledges to stay with the Smiths and make the most of his time on the planet.
"Not Particularly Desperate Housewives" is a hilarious and irreverent take on the housewife genre, with plenty of laughs and unexpected twists and turns. From Stan's attempts to be a "modern man" to Roger's wild antics, there's never a dull moment in this episode of American Dad. Whether you're a fan of the show or just looking for a fun and entertaining way to spend an afternoon, this episode is sure to leave you laughing and wanting more.
