In the eleventh episode of season one of American Dad, titled "Con Heir," Stan Smith finds out that his real father is a car salesman who lives in Florida. Excited to meet him, Stan convinces his reluctant family to take a trip to the Sunshine State to visit him.
Once they arrive, they are surprised to find that Stan's father, Jack Smith, is a wealthy and successful businessman who owns a chain of car dealerships. Jack is thrilled to meet his long-lost son and welcomes him with open arms, but Roger, who has tagged along on the trip, is suspicious of Jack's motives.
Roger's suspicions are confirmed when he discovers that Jack is actually a con artist who is using the visit as an opportunity to pull off a major scam. Jack has convinced Stan to invest in a fake diamond mine in Africa, promising him huge returns on his investment. With the help of Roger, Hayley, and Steve, Stan sets out to uncover Jack's true intentions and put a stop to his scam before it's too late.
As they delve deeper into the scheme, the family must navigate a web of lies, deceit, and danger. Meanwhile, Francine struggles to deal with the realization that her husband is not who she thought he was, and she begins to question their entire relationship.
Throughout the episode, the characters must confront their own flaws and limitations in order to overcome the obstacles in their path. By the end of the episode, Stan and his family have learned important lessons about trust, honesty, and the value of family bonds.
