In "Love Unlimited," the 12th episode of season 2 of Ally McBeal, love is in the air. It seems that every character in the show is grappling with the complexities of relationships, in all their messy glory. Ally herself is still trying to figure out her feelings for her ex-boyfriend Billy, who has recently returned to town. But just as she starts to feel like things might be getting easier, she finds out that he's engaged to someone else.

Meanwhile, Elaine is dealing with her own romantic woes. After a disastrous date with an old flame, she's convinced that she'll never find love. But a chance encounter with a charming businessman named Jackson gives her hope that maybe there's someone out there for her after all.

As if that weren't enough, the law firm is dealing with its own relationship drama. Ling and Richard continue to dance around each other, and Ling is worried that she might be falling in love with him. But when she catches Richard in a compromising position, she realizes that things might be even more complicated than she thought.

And then there's John Cage, who is still pining after his crush, Nelle. He decides to take matters into his own hands and serenade her with a rendition of "Unchained Melody" in the middle of the office. But Nelle's reaction is not what he had hoped for, and he's left wondering if he's made a fool of himself.

Throughout the episode, the characters grapple with the messy, complicated nature of love. They navigate the highs and lows of romance, from the giddiness of a new crush to the heartbreak of a broken relationship. And as always, Ally McBeal manages to find the humor and the humanity in it all.
